Why Use This Tool?

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Pomodoro Technique?

It's a time-management method: work in focused 25-minute blocks ('pomodoros') separated by 5-minute breaks, with a longer 15–30 minute break after every four. It reduces burnout and makes big tasks feel manageable.

Can I change the focus and break times?

Yes. Use the settings to set any focus, short-break, and long-break length that suits you — some people prefer 50/10 for deep work.

Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?

Yes, the countdown continues while the tab is open in the background. For reliable alerts, keep the tab open and leave the sound enabled.

Why is the Pomodoro Technique good for studying?

The fixed focus blocks fight procrastination and mental fatigue, the breaks help retention, and counting completed pomodoros gives a clear sense of progress — which is why students use it for exam prep.
